Alex Doerr

Alex is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Seton Hall University. Her previous experience includes working in adult case management, where she supported individuals navigating mental health concerns and substance use. Alex has alsoworked as a paraprofessional in school settings, supporting children and adolescents with avariety of academic, social, behavioral, and developmental needs. These experiences havedeepened her passion for helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered to navigatelife’s challenges.

Alex believes therapy is most effective when clients feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves. She takes a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach, meeting each client where they are and working together at a pace that feels right for them. She believes that every person brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and goals to therapy, and that the therapeutic relationship provides an opportunity to better understand oneself, develop new perspectives, and create meaningful change.

Alex has a particular interest in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD-related concerns, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and relationship or family difficulties. Her approach is primarily person-centered, whileincorporating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She works alongside clients to develop practical coping skills, better understand their emotions and patterns, navigate challenges, and build greater confidence in themselves and their ability to move forward.

Alex strives to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard rather than judged and supported rather than pressured. She views therapy as a collaborative process and believes that meaningful growth can happen when people are given the space, support, and tools to discover their own path forward.
